Golf News!!!!

All right gang, it’s April and we’re getting close! About 6 weeks away. So 2 purposes for this email. The 1st is if you have not sent a check or have not emailed me directly, I need to hear from you so we can lock down a head count and order the right number of hats, beer, steaks, lube, beer, bloody marys, and of course....beer. So give me a shout if you haven’t already.

The 2nd is a sign that Safari is truly close. The Czar of Safari Golf, Jerry Ferris, has volunteered once again to do the leg work on making tee times. Tournament day is Wednesday and once again will be a “draw for partner” format. So if you are planning to play, please please please email Jerry ASAP and let him know which days you would like to play (and tell him thank you). Here is Jerry’s email, so contact him as soon as you know what days you want to play.

Hello Safari Gang

We are officially less than 3 months away before we head for the lake for some sun and fun, so let’s get this party started. Attached is a registration sheet with an address to send checks back. Looks like we should be able to keep the price at $230.00 despite a slight raise in price for the resort. Be sure to list cabin preferences on the registration sheet but be ready to be flexible.....thanks.

Future emails will come to lay out all the fun we’ll be having for golf and fishing and whatever else we can come up with. Never too early to suggest a menu item or even just what you would like to keep on the menu or what you would like removed.

To help move the next couple months along we have created a Safari Group on Facebook for those of you on Facebook. Invites will be going out over next couple days for the Facebook group. The group is private and posts are not seen anywhere else but by the group. Feel free to post Safari related photos but please do not TAG yourself or anyone else. Some of the group is on probation and trying to keep their identity secure.

The 38th, we think, annual Safari excursion is set for May 14th thru May 18th this year. Pencil those dated into your calendar and start hitting up the bosses and/or wives for some me time.

Safari Fall Golf Outing

Another desperate plea for Safari golfers to join the fun at Safari Fall Golf Spectacular. It’s confirmed that Chip & Ron will be there and will once again perform a variety of their favorite show tunes at Don’s house Friday night. You really don’t want to miss this.

In case you forgot here are the details:

Sept 17th (Friday) Golf in afternoon followed by a cookout at Don’s

Sept 18th Golf in morning (avoid bloody marys before tee off…trust me)

At the request of Joe’s probation officer, neither of the golf courses will be near schools or day care facilities. But that’s all we can tell you at this time.

If you want to attend and you have not already let myself, Dick, or Don know, please let me know ASAP.

Well another Safari was safely survived by everyone. Did it rain a little bit? Thanks to everyone that helped make this a success and hope everyone had fun. Anyone have any stories to tell that not everybody knows about yet? How about the keg taking a tumble? Or the emergency engine starting kit? Maybe the taco eating contest? I'll get the website updated ASAP with the new information. And thanks again to everyone.
